Recreation & Leisure Programs

When a new resident is admitted to the Bennett Centre, the Recreation Coordinator meets with the resident to determine past and current social interests. This information helps staff to identify appropriate programs for the resident.

Our activity program considers the needs of all residents by offering recreational, social, spiritual and therapeutic activities. Programs are offered seven days per week and reach all our residents including the reluctant and those with limited capabilities. The Recreation Coordinator prepares and posts an activity schedule each month which includes such activities as crafts, worship service, music therapy, horticulture, pet therapy, fun and fitness, bingo, bowling, baking, trivia and current events.

Special Events

Parties are planned for special occasions including birthdays and holidays. We offer seasonal outings such as shopping trips, Christmas lights tour, day trips to the beach, St. Jacobs, Toronto Island and Niagara-on-the-Lake.
